Magic Eraser™
The easiest way may be to buy a Magic Eraser. It works reasonably well most of the time, but they are expensive. Also, it won’t work well on the brightly colored crayons. Magic Erasers aren’t great for textured walls, and many generic brands don’t seem to work as well.
If you want to try another product that you can get from the store, Goo Gone is a good choice. Put some of the Goo Gone on a paper towel. Rub it onto the crayon. It generally comes off with minimal effort.
Since it is oil based, Goo Gone will leave an oily residue on your wall. Use hot water and dishwashing liquid – I like DAWN™ – to wash the area and rinse. Not a good choice for flat wall paint.
Baking Soda is a mild abrasive. Dampen an old rag, (you may need to throw it out when done), and put some baking soda in a dish or on a paper plate. Dip the cloth into the baking soda. Gently rub the marks with the baking soda. The crayon should come off without too much difficulty.
Spray the WD-40 on a paper towel and use a clean paper towel to wipe clean. Do Not spray the WD-40 on the wall, it can run and leave greasy streaks. Once the crayon is gone, dampen a cloth or rag with hot water and wash the area using dish soap. This method is not good for wallpaper or fabrics, but can be used on hard furniture, cupboards and appliances.
I suggest testing this in an inconspicuous area before using.
Surprise! This works great, and it doesn’t require much effort. Put mayonnaise on a paper towel and rub. Let it sit on the area to break down the grease in the crayon for an hour or two. Rub the crayon off and then wash the area with hot water and dish soap. This will work on textured walls and wallpaper also.
This requires non-gel toothpaste. Think Colgate old fashion white. Toothpaste is slightly abrasive and has great cleaning power. Work it into the crayon. Once it is removed, wash the wall well with hot water and dish soap.
Steel Wool Pad
This works well on wallpaper but must be used gently.
Take a FINE (0000) steel wool pad and GENTLY glide it over the crayon area. Work ONLY in one direction. Do not rub back and forth or rub in circles. This could rub the pattern off the paper or remove it.
QUEEN TIPS:
Use a soft toothbrush to work the cleaner into the crayon especially on textured walls.
Use a blow dryer to warm the crayon for easier removal.
