DIY PEST CONTROL

DIY PEST CONTROL – As seen on 3TV/Phoenix (Good morning AZ) – Aired: Monday, May 14, 2018 (8:40am)

SCORPIONS
In Arizona probably one of the worst pests we have is the scorpion. They love our heat and they love to come in the house for food and water. They can flatten themselves to the thickness of a credit card so they can come in almost anywhere.

My usual way of killing a scorpion that invaded the house was with a large hammer. Effective, but messy and gross.

Thanks to my husband, we now have the Scorpion Bug Grabber! I can stay away from the scorpion, grab it and trash it simply, easily and I never have to handle it….dead or alive!

The Scorpion Bug Grabber gives you the ability to capture a scorpion or any bug off the wall or floor, seal it within the adhesive trap- and dispose of it, all with just one hand while maintaining a safe 36 in. distance. This amazing product is effective for many of the insects that invade your home including: roaches, crickets, earwigs, spiders, ants, and almost any other crawling bug.

The Scorpion Bug Grabber holds the adhesive traps so you can smash the pest, fold the trap over (ensuring to trap the bug if it’s still kicking), and drop the trap in the trash, for a safe, no-stress, easy-to-use solution to almost any insect invader in your home, all while staying 3 ft. away.

There is also a very convenient flashlight clip so you can hunt at night and find scorpions with a Scorpion Master UV Black-light. Sold separately.

The convenient flashlight clip also serves as a clip for extra Stick-N-Seal Traps (10 included) for easy access to more traps, on the GO.

Look for this at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, many ACE stores and on ScorpionMaster.com.

ANTS
If ants are crawling on the counter, wipe down counter with white vinegar. They hate the taste so they will stay away.
Sprinkle dried mint or red pepper where ants are entering the house. The heat will deter them from crawling through it.

To kill ants in the house, mix a combination of 50% Twenty Mule Team Borax and 50% percent confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar).

Place this in a cardboard box – a small jewelry box works great- and tape it shut or rubber band it. Poke several holes in the side of the box with a sharp tool to allow the ants access but keep pets away. Place inside the house where you are noticing ants. They will carry this mixture back to the nest to feed the queen and other ants and soon they will be dead.

PESKY PANTRY BUGS

Dried bay leaves tucked into the pantry shelve will help eliminate those pesky bugs that infest things like flour and cereal. If that cereal or flour has been sitting on the shelf a long time, put water in a bowl and shake a little cereal or flour into it. The cereal and flour will sink and any bugs will float.

COCKROACH RECIPE #1
To eliminate cockroaches without using harsh chemicals put together this bait.

1/3 cup Twenty Mule Team Borax ( find in the laundry additive area)

1/3 cup cornmeal

1/3 cup flour

Dash of powdered sugar.

Sprinkle this in crevices under sinks and vanities where roaches love to hide. Remember to always keep insect killers away from children and pets.

COCKROACHES – RECIPE #2
Combine a mixture of:

50% boric acid

25% sugar

25% powdered creamer

Sprinkle in dark warm places that roaches love……behind stoves, under sinks, behind refrigerators, in cabinets etc. Why does this work? They walk through it, clean themselves and ingest the powder and die. It’s the boric acid that does it.
