Fels Naptha Laundry Bar Soap has been around for about 100 years. Our grandmas and great grandmas used it to wash all of their laundry. You can buy it at big box and grocery stores in the laundry spotter aisle. A bar will last you probably at least a year.
Fels Naptha Soap is a fantastic stain remover and pre-treater.
It works especially well on oil-based stains. Just rub the stain with a wet bar of Fels Naptha Soap. Let it sit for a while and launder as usual
It also works great on baby clothes with formula stains.
For tough stains, use my Queen’s Power Paste: Simply wet the garment, wet the Fels Naptha Soap and work into the stain. Sprinkle with Twenty Mule Team Borax (look for it in the laundry additive area) and work in. Let sit about 15 minutes and then launder as usual.
To clean white canvas tennis shoes. Wet the shoe with warm water, work the Fels Naptha Soap into a lather and use a soft brush to work into the shoe. Rinse well and let dry out of the sun.
To remove old stains on colored clothes, make a solution of 2 cups warm water and 1/2 cup white vinegar. Pour on stain. Let soak for 30 minutes or so. Rinse well and work in Fels Naptha Soap. Launder as usual.
Clean your shower. Use a wet bar of Fels-Naptha along with a non-abrasive scouring scrub to clean your shower. Once you get it clean the first time, keeping it up is easy.
Although it is not hand soap, it can remove grease, ink or various other nasty stains from your hands. However, it is not safe to wash hands regularly with this soap as it can irritate and dry skin.
