- I like to feed the birds, but squirrels are always there to fill their faces too. Soon there's no bird seed left.
- There are devices you can buy to deter them, but squirrels are smart and usually find a way back to the seed. People suggest slathering the pole in petroleum jelly and other substances, but that is super messy and collects dirt and debris creating a nasty cleaning job.
- I use car wax to wax the pole that the feeder sits on. Appy it just as you would to your car.
- The squirrels jump on the pole and down they slide!! It lasts a long time and is easy to reapply when needed.

Using the car wax will not hurt the birds or the squirrels.
Why It Works:
The car wax makes the pole too slippery for them to grip and they make a slow motion slide down it.
