How to:

  1. 1 1/2 cups baking soda
  2. 1 tsp dish washing liquid
  3. 2 tsp salt
  4. 20-50 drops of essential oils
  5. ¼ to ½ cup water
  6. Mix the baking soda, dish washing liquid and salt together in a mixing bowl.
  7. Add the essential oils as desired.
  8. Then slowly add water until the mixture sticks together without being too wet.
  9. The more essential oils you use, the less water you will need. If you add too much water by mistake, just add more baking soda until you get the desired texture, similar to cookie dough.
  10. Using your hands or a 1 Tablespoon cookie scoop, form the mixture into balls {approximately 1 – 1.5 inch in size} and place on a sheet of wax paper on a cookie sheet.
  11. This recipe makes approximately 20 balls {depending on size}.
  12. Allow to dry overnight until firm.
  13. Place in an airtight container and store indefinitely.

Linda Says:

When picking your essential oils thing about things that will smell good in the kitchen. I like citrus oils, basil, and cloves

Why It Works:

The ingredients clean out the holes in the disposal where food can become trapped and also scrub the blades. The essential oils add a fresh, clean scent.
