How to disinfect and deodorize a wood cutting board or butcher block counter
How to:
- Wipe the surface down with undiluted white vinegar after each use.
- If the surface of the butcher block is sealed with a high-gloss sealer, dry with paper towels or cloth
- To deodorize the surface sprinkle some baking soda over it and then spray with udiluted white vinegar.
- Let it foam and bubble for for 5 - 10 minutes and then rinse
Warnings & Cautions:
These wooden surfaces can breed harmful bugs such as E.coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus, none of which you want in your food.
Why It Works:
Why white vinegar instead of apple cider? White vinegar has a stronger acid content so is better for cleaning.
White vinegar is effective against E.coli, Salmonella and Staphylococus all of which can cause illness.
