Cleaning a Ceiling Fan
What you need:
- Old Pillow case
- Stool or ladder
- Microfiber Cloth
- Lambswool Duster
- Water (optional)
- Liquid Dishsoap (optional)
How to:
- Stand on something secure to reach the fan blades
- Slip the pillow case over the blades, one by one
- Hold the pillow case around the blade
- Pull towards you - the dust will be caught in the pillow case
- When done, Take case outside over trash the turn wrong side out to shake off dirt
- Launder
- For Cleaning without standing on anything or dusting:
- Use a telescoping lambswool duster to dust the fan
- If the fan is sticky from dirt:
- Dampen a micro fiber cloth and wash the blades
- Dry blades
- If needed, use a quart of water and a squirt of liquid dish soap to wash it Wring cloth out to just damp. Use care when electricity is involved using water
- If a light fixture is attached wash that too
