How to remove odor from front loader washing machines
What you need:
- Hot water (1/2 cup)
- White vinegar (1/2 cup)
- Spray bottle
- Old washcloth or paper towels
How to:
- Combine hot water and vinegar in spray bottle
- Pull the gasket to open it. This will be where the mold and debris is that causes odor
- Spray the entire inside of the gasket with the vinegar/water solution
- Let sit 15 minutes or so
- Pull open the gasket and rub firmly with the rag or paper towels
- Retreat as needed until it is clean
Notes:
To avoid the odor clean the gasket monthly. If it is an ongoing problem, leave the washer door open slightly.
