Nail Polish On Carpet
What you need:
- Nonoily Nail Polish Remover
- A non-silver spoon or eyedropper
- Paper Towels
- Straight Acetone
- Carpet Stain Remover
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Cool Water
How to:
- Blot up as much polish as possible with a tissue or anything handy
- Test the effect of nonoily polish remover on an inconspicuous part of the carpet. If there are no ill effects continue
- Apply the nail polish remover with a spoon or eyedropper. DO NOT pour it on.
- Blot immediately after each application and grip the carpet strands, if possible, and squeeze with the paper towels
- If the nonnoily polish remover isn't working switch to straight acetone. Available at drug stores and beauty supply.
- Pretest again and apply as directed above
- Once you have removed as much as possible (have patience), follow with a good carpet stain remover according to the directions.
- If any color staining remains, apply 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to remove it Once done, blot with cool water. Blot with a pad of paper towels.

This takes patience. If you apply too much polish remover the stain will spread out. If it starts to do that, stop and let it dry and then start again. It may take a few treatments to remove all of the polish.
NEVER apply nail polish over carpet or fabrics.....naked and in the backyard is foolproof!
