Cleaning Solid Brass

What you need:

  • Lemon juice - Real or bottled
  • Salt
  • Paper towels
  • Bowl

How to:

  1. Combine: In a bowl
  2. Half lemon juice
  3. Half salt
  4. Rub on the brass with a paper towel. Rub until cleaning, adding more of the salt/lemon until it is clean
  5. Rinse thourghly
  6. Buff dry.

Warnings & Cautions:

This is NOT for use on brass-plated pieces. It will ruin them. Solid brass is brass-colored on both sides. Brass-plated is brass colored on one side and black on the other Test this in a small inconspicuous area first.

The acidic lemon juice combined with the salt breaks down the tarnish and removes it.
